Jewellery Designs
Lakshmi’s passion for jewelry began in childhood, inspired by the vibrant markets of Sikkim and Nepal and their Indo-Chinese Buddhist aesthetics of coral, turquoise, and dragon motifs. In Afghanistan, she discovered the Turkic-Mongol traditions of Lapis Lazuli and Malachite, deepening her fascination with gemstones and design.
At NIFT Delhi, she explored India’s traditional crafts and techniques like Bidri, Thewa, and Meenakari, while later in Kuala Lumpur, she reimagined Peranakan jewelry by blending it with global influences. Travels across Europe further expanded her mastery of granulation, stone setting, and filigree.
Though her work spans many disciplines, Lakshmi always returns to jewelry-making—transforming old projects with new ideas and weaving art and jewelry into a seamless fusion of craftsmanship and creativity.
