Inspiration
Strata morphosis is the idea of change, and the layers gathered through the cycle of life, a new canvas painted on by the brush of life, the influences of our surroundings as life passes by. These varied influences affect our looks, our personalities and our behaviour patterns. The youth phase of this cycle is when these influences have maximum appeal to a viewer, a brief period after which additional layers and effects start to layer up; Strata Morphosis is about a snapshot capturing that fleeting moment in time.
These concepts of ageing, the cycle of life, influences on life and continuity, that everything, be it a tree, a person, or a plate of copper, ages and withers, gathers moss or wrinkles, shrivels up and morphs with time, relates to life and change. A slice of life capturing a moment in the cycle of life, between life and death, correlating this youth phase to various other elements, which also go through the same ageing process, is encapsulated in these abstracts.
