LAKSHMI MOHANBABU
Lakshmi Mohanbabu is the first person in the world to send art to both outer space and the deep ocean floor.
A Singaporean interdisciplinary creator, architect and designer, her life has taken her across countries, cultures and disciplines — from her early years in Soviet-occupied Afghanistan to architecture, design and international collaborations.
From the smallest elements to the largest systems, the same patterns appear again and again. Everything is connected, and every interaction changes what happens next.
This idea is at the heart of Interactions, a framework through which Lakshmi brings together people, ideas and disciplines to explore what becomes possible when they work together.
These collaborations have taken Interactions to the International Space Station and nearly seven kilometres beneath the Pacific Ocean, with a permanent placement on the Moon planned.
Interactions is a language of relationships — belonging to everyone, owned by no one.

The Interactions Project embarked on its journey to the INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION in 2022 and is set to find a permanent home on the MOON in 2026
